bubba at the beach

the first night at the beach, will chose not to sleep very well so i slept in until 8:40. it was delightful. however, during that time, will re-named himself . . . to "bubba." yes, i said bubba. (we Do live in SE Texas, obviously.)
do not ask me how, i may never know the exact route of conversation that led to this decision but he calls himself bubba. maybe he will forget. so this post is in honor of bubba, at the beach.
bubba likes to play in the sand but no castles, he destroys them each time one is formed.this is bubba's family. notice bubba's mama, she has changed since her former crystal beach days. i think she is wearing a floppy hat and a t-shirt while her children wear life jackets in order to avoid drowning! she has grown up so much, bless mama's heart. bubba does not like teething, sand or those darn swim diapers, they irritate his rear. :)

bubba loves watermelon but what bubba doesn't?

all the activity wears a boy out, even bubba. he sleeps on his ma. i am sure every bubba has a ma and a pa. :)

you may be surprised but bubba cleans up really well.

bubba's daddy does not think little boys should hold flowers, but his mama thinks he is darling.

i am just glad bubba's real name is will - he looks like william christopher in this pic.

no matter what they call themselves, they are mine and i love them dearly. i am proud of them too, can you tell?

** i did work with the colors on some of these pics, i guess i am trying to be pioneer woman with no photoshop. :)

getting ready

i have a lot to do the next week. we are going to the beach for a day or so and then i have a meeting at church on sunday for the nursery volunteers. i must prepare my home and myself for the visit from the fam.

my little sisters and my mom are coming. one sis is a clean freak, actually they both are, i used to think i was but 3 kids later...not so much. as you know, the other sis despises my wardrobe choices. and don't even get me started on my hair, they all blasted that one merry Christmas.

i have grocery shopped and have sunday's dinner planned so i can feed everyone when they get here. i feel so bad the trip is so long, it is annoying they live so far away.

why couldn't dad buy a place in houston? because he dislikes people & traffic and enjoys wide, open spaces. i almost started singing. anyway, back to post.

why not tyler? it is beautiful there and they even have a mall. just kidding, i am glad they live where God called them and we live where God called us.

craig & i are leaving early tuesday to head to houston and therefore, to sum up this boring post, i feel the need to straighten. . . everything.

same kind of different as me

I read this book this week. I could not put it down. You can read more about it here. It is about a homeless black man and a wealthy couple who meet by divine intervention in Ft. Worth, TX. By God's grace, their lives change forever and therefore touch thousands of other people. This true story changed me.

Parade

You know you want too, you just can't stand it! Watch a clip from the parade here. You see Faith & Claire a few times if you look careful but you catch a good shot of Will at the end.

Not to bore you but it is my blog. :)

Happy 4th of July!

the kids were in a neighborhood parade this morning. will did not feel the love from my photo-ops.
nor did he care to SIT in the wagon. if he could have pulled or drove the wagon, he may have been more pleased. claire ditched the scooter after 12 steps and opted for the hayride.

cake, lemonade & watermelon was the treat at then end of our patriotic adventure. will also won an award for the best wagon: "the larson crew and captain will." (i made up larson crew and some random person called will the captain.) i guess the judges were unaware he really did not wish to ride IN the wagon. however, he must have been cute b/c he made the 6:00 news. :)we had a yummy dinner at the kessingers and then we watched the riverfront fireworks at a church downtown. will disliked them immensely but loved running around before the popping began. when it started, he told craig, "go bye-bye?"

faith and claire loved every minute of the entire day, but they are girls and girls know how to throw a party!

the fashion diva that i am

this is my current wardrobe. i am probably really scaring a few people now. if more knew this fact, they would be disgusted. remember that it is summer and i have 3 very, very young children.

i did get this shirt & shorts on sale at S&M Bargain City - about 3 mos. ago. never mind, i have worn them everyday since. the shirt often changes to gray or lt. blue and the shorts are sometimes black or aqua. i bought random on-sale colors.
cannot forget my new hat. my fashion conscious daughters have questioned if i am going to wear it everyday? i said yes.

i have worn it about every day since about june 10th, when i purchased it. (not to church, i fix my hair on sunday, maybe.) since it was my middle sis's b-day, let's say i bought it in her honor and i have worn it everyday since. . . . in meredith's honor.the shoes. they are very necessary for my morning workouts or not. this shoe pic is awful, i must wash them immediately. (the socks are clean, just ready for the morning...which is right now. i need to go to bed.)

if i do not work out, i still end up in workout clothes because it makes me feel better, look better? in other shoes, i do wear my old navy $1 flip flops, any color.

who doesn't desire to dress like me? (don't answer that) - it is summer! and 1/2 over at that. :)
