While you were sleeping....

My first clue was the paper trail. Tiny bits of toilet paper led me from the kid's bath to Claire's bunk.

I was not surprised to see a tent, she is an official tent maker.

As I peered in to see her asleep (or not), I saw this:

She was asleep but I am not sure if Barbie and her friends were comfortable clothed in white tissues, wet wipes & toilet paper. Assembly by Claire & hair bands of all sizes. I think I am right-on in determining her creative, visual right brained self! :)

I bet you would rather play I spy with his pic then me explain everything it means to me. So, this is it in a nutshell:

I am a taxi driver who strives to enlighten children with extracurricular activities to stretch their imaginations and make them strong emotionally, physically & spiritually. But somehow the snacks, backpacks, blanket, camera, homework, ballet shoes, chin guards and the dog tend to steal my plan. And like all this stuff dumped at the backdoor, it is how I felt by 7:00 tonight.


Then as I lean on the one and only SAVIOUR, I remember it is more like a calling than driving. :)

It was a big day! Everyone woke up happy and ready for school, except little bro, he was thinking it was a little much. We ate breakfast at Ma & Pa's since it is around the corner from Porta-Regina. (Which is sooo nice by the way - they have worked so hard. Not to mention, the teachers & staff rock!!!!

This is a pic Claire took of me while we were supposed to be listening to Mrs. Brocato (or Mrs. Potato as Will calls her) talk about drop-off, tying shoes, water breaks, snacks, centers & another gillion things!

She must have had great lighting b/c it shocked the wrinkles out of my face! We need to work on steadying of the camera. :)

Creative jeans for the genes!

I wish I could say that I made these darling jean jackets but I can't tell you that. My genes are not talented. A friend from church made them and Jeannie bought them for my girls & their cousin Lila.

She let them choose the colors they wanted & asked them if they would model them? Of course, they both cried, "Never could we wear them to model, what a terrible, horrible no good day!" Yeah, right, they asked, "When and can we wear make-up?


I can't wait for it to get cold (hopefully by December!) so they can wear them.

The year of 37

As I turned a year older this week, my children are growing up like weeds - good weeds, most of the time.

Faith decided she wanted to wear her hair straight after her trim last week. I think it aged her!


Will has turned into a cowboy overnight!

Someday, they won't want to be so much bigger, they will long to be young again!

We are headed to Gulf Shores and I cannot wait to sink my toes in the sand here & eat here!

Reading

Honestly, I love to read but I rarely do or choose to do. My excuse is usually that I read whatever Bible study I am doing but sometimes that is also far-fetched. A few weeks ago, the girls were in Tyler and Craig & I took Will swimming. Before we left, I walked across the street and asked Donna for a book, any book, I just needed to read. She gave me Chasing Fireflies by Charles Martin. Oh my, I loved it. So, I have also read Where the River Ends, The Dead Don't Dance and I am currently reading When Crickets Cry.

Did I mention when I do read, I am obsessive? I am so it must come in spurts. I never want his stories to end & his writing is extremely moving.

I would like to just read about 15-20 minutes each night and drift off to sleep but it turns into hours with kids begging me for food and a dirty house. Not really but it could.
