It must have been a nudge from the Lord this morning when I took extra quiet time, I needed it today!
Will & I ran errands which consisted of car duties: oil change, washing, inspection. I detest all that but I forgot to tell my hubby last week so it fell on me. Not to mention, Faith was scared I would go to jail if I did not get the 3/09 off my window sticker.
Since an Arctic wind that felt like a blizzard blew through here, it was kind of a crummy morning. A 2 year old plus a 8x8 Jiffy lube room don't match. Will was unhappy with any of my plans and all of his comments consisted of repeating "no!"
After a nap-wrestling match, sweet Claire and I cozied up & watched Curious George before carpool time. Upon picking Faith up, Reese & Kate came to play and Faith completed her Flat Stanley project. Operation 2 year old was fine at the moment.
Until...time to fix dinner. Team 5 year old and Operation 2 year old teamed up to have a snack right before dinner. After my calm refusal and their retreating wails, I made a choice. If you cannot beat them, join them. So, I threw myself out in a roaring fit in front of them. I beat my hands on the stone floor and wailed for a margarita.
Just kidding, wish I had. Instead, I gave Claire a pan of flour and told her to practice writing letter e and r. I grabbed a chair for Will and he played over the sink with 17 gallons of City water. Hello water bill!
Faith? She joyfully completed her homework. Really. . . I have pics.
I would post my Lemon Chicken with capers recipe but I was not so fond of the capers. Ever eaten capers? It was ok. The kids loved the chicken. Except Will, he is anti-anything-not-his-own-idea at the moment.
After dinner, the kids golfed outside with the new Tiger Woods Daddy and I went to Kroger for an ez shopping trip. It went well besides the fact that the economy is a bust and groceries are a riot.
However, I was talking to A when I got home and Craig came out to get the groceries. I guess I put the milk in a silly place b/c it busted all over the driveway when he opened the tailgate. Never fear, Tiger saved the day and spared some of my milk. Then, I remembered the checker forgot my cash so I had to go back. Not my day. Maybe I need to have a few moments playing in flour & water?
