pie please!

my kids love the water so we took advantage of the family invite to swim with the cousins in kingwood today. craig's cousin matt only had one request, his grandmother's chocolate pie.

unfortunately, meme is not up to making pies lately and i do not have her recipe but i have my grandmother's, granny i called her. she went to be with Jesus in 1996 and we miss her, such a woman of God & an amazing cook. you name it, she made it and it was from scratch and delicious. sin in our family = cake from a box or a store bought pie.

in order to not curse my pearson name, i had to meet the challenge. i made a choc. pie. do you know how to separate the yolk from the egg white? i did not either until i ruined 2 eggs and checked the useful web. learn how here, it works. this may be simple for many of you, but recent pie making has not been on my agenda. especially since it is not thanksgiving.

last night at 10:00, craig told me we should just buy one at the store. i told him that if i bought it at the store it was like him never baiting a hook or shooting a rifle, someone else always did it instead. he got the picture. while making this granny pie, i realized i don't even like pie, only my aunt margaret's lemon icebox, new challenge.
